What happens if my project starts generating revenue?: If your project begins significant commercial monetization, we ask that you transition to a paid plan. We review annually and will always give advance notice before any change.
Can forks of my project also apply?: Each fork must apply independently. We allocate one grant per project, not per fork, to prevent abuse.
Is there an SLA or uptime guarantee?: The open source program does not include SLA guarantees. You get the same production infrastructure and reliability as paid plans, but without contractual uptime commitments or priority support.
How long does approval take?: We review applications within 5 business days. You will receive an email with your decision and, if approved, your API key and onboarding instructions.
What if I exceed 50,000 checks in a month?: We will reach out to discuss your usage. For genuine open source projects with growing user bases, we are happy to increase limits on a case-by-case basis.
Do I need to display an A3 badge?: Yes. Projects in the program are required to include a "Powered by A3" attribution — either in the age gate UI that end users see, or in your project's README. This helps other open source maintainers discover the program and supports A3's mission to make age compliance accessible to everyone.
